How it works
- 1. Crawl
A headless browser loads your home page and follows internal links the way a visitor would, ignoring files and other domains.
- 2. Read
Each page is screenshotted and classified. The home page load is watched for tag requests: GTM, GA4, Meta, consent tools, and the MapIntact script.
- 3. Map
Pages are laid out by depth and role. Open it as a canvas to forecast the funnel or to install tracking and watch real sessions flow through it.
Questions
- What does the crawler do?
- It loads your home page in a real browser, follows internal links up to three levels deep, and stops at 25 pages. Each page gets a screenshot, a title, and a guess at its role (home, landing, product, checkout, thank you, blog, contact).
- Which pages are skipped?
- Anything behind a login, files (PDFs, images), pages on other domains, and URLs that only differ by query string. Sites behind a bot wall like Cloudflare's challenge page return a partial map.
- What is the tracking check?
- While the home page loads we record which tags fire: Google Tag Manager containers, GA4 measurement ids, Meta pixel ids, and consent tools. If the MapIntact script is already installed we show its key.
- Why do you ask for an email?
- The crawl takes up to a minute and the result link is only in the browser that started it. The email gets the same link, plus the occasional product note. Unsubscribe in one click.
- Can I open the map as a canvas?
- Yes. The result page has an Open as canvas button. Sign in (free, no password) and the pages land on a MapIntact canvas with thumbnails and the links between them, ready for forecasting or tracking.
- Is it safe to run on my client's site?
- The crawler reads public pages the way a search engine does, sends no form, and never submits data. It identifies itself as MapIntact in the user agent so you can allow or block it.
